If you’re dreaming of waking up to the sound of waves and stepping straight onto the sand, Whitesands Camping should be your perfect match. It’s the only campsite right next to Whitesands Beach and it’s got a wonderful relaxed vibe with great views. We have been welcoming campers since the 1930s.
We don't make bookings: just turn up after mid-day, choose your pitch and check in when the site office is open (0900 with other timings posted on the window). No need to book in advance or leave a hefty deposit. If the office is closed when you arrive, pitch up and call in the office in the morning to obtain shower tokens, book in etc. Book in as soon as you can. On an irregular basis, we visit the site outside of office hours to keep an eye on what's going on and assist our campers; we also monitor comings and goings with CCTV.
We closed this season on 30 September 2025 and will be opening again on 1 April 2026 for Easter (weather permitting).
Relaxed and laid back atmosphere, you won't find signs everywhere, there's minimum fuss, you can choose where you pitch, park your car conveniently and securely next to your tent (no need to pay for parking next to the beach like everyone else), no surprise "club membership", enjoy meeting your fellow campers (many of whom have been staying here for generations); we offer the classic back-to-nature experience - with sea views and direct access to the beautiful beach and coastal path.
Please don't e mail us asking for a booking - if you prefer, there are other inland campsites that only accept campers who have booked and paid deposits in advance (and may insist of a minimum stay of 3 days in the summer). More likelihood of pitches if you arrive mid-week and early afternoon (12pm onwards); very occasionally full (twice in 2025), nearby alternatives always available in the area.
Campsite: Tents, trailer tents, campervans (such as VW T5), roof tents and smaller sized motorhomes are all welcome; plus motorbikes. Sorry, we don't have pitches for caravans or room for very large motorhomes ('A' class @7 metre plus; and RV). The entrance gate is 12 foot wide with no height restriction.
Hook Ups There are electric hook-ups on the main campsite. It is not possible to book hook-ups in advance.
We do not allow campfires on the ground because they damage the grass (the campsite is part of a working farm). Raised barbecues and similar appliances are fine.
We no longer accept youths under 18.
In the interests of other campers, dogs should be kept under close control or preferably on a lead. They are not allowed in the shower and toilet block.
The campsite slopes gently down towards the sea. Park conveniently and foc next to your pitch (the adjoining Council beach car park charges £6/vehicle/day; & £20/day for mini-vans in 2025).
We accept contactless and card payments (preferred) or cash.

Mobile Phone - Best reception next to Lifeguard Hut where Dragon WiFi have boosted the mobile signal; alternatively use wifi calling; or walk half a mile towards St Davids, up the hill.

Electric Car Charging - It is not possible to charge vehicles on site, we do not have a dedicated EV hook-up with 3-phase electricity (and are not insured for this service). Nearest charging points close by: Oriel y Parc Visitor Centre Car Park, St. Davids, SA62 6NW (2 miles from campsite); and (slightly closer) at Quickwell Car Park, St Davids SA62 6PD.
Bus Service In the summer every half hour from the next door beach car park at 5 mins past the hour & 35 mins past the hour.
