Camping Next to the Beach!
Whitesands Camping® is the only campsite next to the 'blue flag' Whitesands Beach.
Closed 7 October 2024. Open Easter 2025.
No need to book in advance, we don't make bookings - just turn up, choose your pitch and check in with Mark when the site office is open (usually 0900-1000 and 1600-1700, with other hours posted on the office window). No fuss. Relaxed atmosphere. Beach vibe. Family friendly. Stay as long as you want (most stay longer).
Please do not email us asking for a booking; if you feel the need, there are other inland campsites locally that only accept campers who have booked and paid deposits in advance.
Awarded "Best Beachside Campsite, Pembrokeshire 2024" by Best of British Getaways. Whitesands was selected by The Times as one of top 50 UK beaches 2023.
Facilities
A new shower block opened in August 2020: showers (five with tokens), an outdoor wash-down shower, 6 toilets (male, female and disabled/family), an outside sink for washing-up and a motorhome cassette waste point.
There are electric hook-ups on the main site ("first come first served", they cannot be booked in advance) and water taps dotted about the place. Broadband Wi-Fi is available on site (charge made by Dragon WiFi, first 10 minutes free); wifi and mobile intermitent coverage.
The “Coaster” bus travels to St David’s every half hour during the summer months (May to September); and the beach is manned by RNLI Lifeguards over the same period.
An ice cream hut and a beach cafe are open for the camping season.
We accept dogs and well behaved owners on site. Pembrokeshire Coast National Park imposes a dog ban on Whitesands Beach between 1st May and 30th September. There is no ban on the coast path, or the nearby beaches (about a mile's walk away) of Porthsele or Porth Melgan.
On site, during the summer months you can book surf lessons and hire equipment in peak season; windbreaks and recliners can also be rented at the beach car park.
