Campsite will open again when Wales 2021 lockdown has been fully lifted.  All being well, we hope to open on Friday 14th May

15th April 2021 - Update

Wales remains Covid 19 Level 4, and services are slowly 'opening up'.  Since 27th March: self-contained accommodation is open again to those from the same family or bubble; this includes touring caravans and motorhomes with on-board toilets, showers and kitchen.  Campsites can't open their shared facilities yet, including shower and toilet blocks.

It is possible that Wales may go into Level 3 on 17th May in time for the late Spring Bank Holiday; this may allow for shared facilities to be opened (showers and toilets) and tents to pitch up.

Met Office Whitesands Beach Forecast

The new Shower and Toilet block opened in August 2020.  There are separate female, male and disabled/family sections; an outside washdown shower and stainless steel washing-up sink.  Tokens are available for the shower meters (coins will not work).

Farm Fields (13 acres, or nearly 10 football pitches) above the beach; plenty of room and space; in 2021: open for July and August.  This 'wild camping' is restricted to tents and trailer tents, with places to pitch that are set far apart.  There are water taps located in most fields, no hook-ups.  Of course, the facilities on the main site (showers and toilets) are also available to campers using the farm fields.  There will be no additional charge for those who bring their own toilet tents in order to remain self contained.

There are electric hook-ups on the main site.  It is not possible to book hook-ups in advance.

Electric showers are £1 for a token.  Campers must not use coins, they shut down the meters.

We do not allow campfires on the ground which damages the grass (the campsite is part of a working farm).

In the interests of other campers, dogs should be kept under close control or preferably on a lead on the site.  They are not allowed in the shower and toilet block.

To avoid damage to the grass-cutting machinery and natural environment: campers are requested not to remove stones from the hedges or leave them on the fields: Respect the Farm.

The main 30 pitch site slopes gently down towards the sea.  The farm fields open in August: the higher up you go in the fields, the flatter your pitch will be, and more dramatic the view.

A newly built shower block built was opened in August 2020: showers (five with tokens), an outdoor shower, 6 toilets (male, female and disabled/family), 14 electric hook-ups, and water taps dotted about the place.  For most of the season this is sufficient, though it can get busy in August.

The farm fields are open in August: there’s plenty of room in the fields (13 acres) for a game of football or cricket; at the Beach Car Park you can book surf lessons and hire equipment, including windbreaks and recliners.  For a 'live' view of Whitesands click on: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4MjvSFTXyV0

The “Coaster” bus travels to St David’s every half hour during the summer months (May to September); and the beach is manned by RNLI Lifeguards over the same period.

A cafe, situated in the beach Car Park, is open for the camping season.

Pembrokeshire Coast National Park imposes a dog ban on Whitesands Beach between 1st May and 30th September.  There is no ban on the coast path, or the nearby beaches of Porthsele or Porth Melgan.
